What is Nomadic Lifestyle?

A nomadic lifestyle is where you spend your time traveling and living in different places, rather than settling down into one location. It is a rapidly growing trend, and many people are choosing to live this way.

Nomadic lifestyle often refers to someone who moves from one place to the next with no set schedule or goal. They may not have any specific plans and just live day-to-day, depending on what opportunities come their way.

Nomads have traditionally been traders or merchants who traveled so they could sell goods in different places. Nowadays the term also refers to digital nomads, those who work remotely online from wherever they happen to be living at the time.

What is a Digital Nomad Blog?

Digital nomads are individuals who can work anywhere, anytime with the help of their computer and internet access. They don’t have to be tied down by a physical location and they just rove around living in different places each week or month.

A digital nomad blog is written by an individual who chooses to be nomadic and write about their experiences on the road. They write about everything from how they find accommodation, get food when traveling, or deal with loneliness as someone always on the move.

The digital nomad blog usually has travel tips for other digital nomads but can also write about topics such as how to find affordable housing in different countries without high rent prices, how to get around places when you don’t speak the language fluently, or even share thoughts on life experiences that they go through while traveling abroad.

Like most blogs there are varying subjects that might be discussed by this type of blog.

  • Freelance Writing
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Sponsored Blog Posts

Let’s dive into each….

Write for Digital Nomad Blog: Someone Else’s Blog

To write for a digital nomad blog, you’ll need to write about your travels. You will then pitch your content to existing relevant websites and/or seek out freelance gigs that are looking for your content.

It’s not enough just to write about what country you visited and the people you met there. Your post should be something like an essay or personal story that shares both your thoughts and experiences with readers who are interested in your travels.

If you write a piece about your experience, make sure to include the following:

  1. Introduction: A brief summary of what will be covered in the article  or post.  For example “I’ll share my tips for traveling with children” or “5 ways I manage to write articles from any location”.
  2. Body: The main content of the article or post.
  3. Conclusion or summary: A brief conclusion or observation that restates and summarizes the key points made.

Include your contact information at the bottom so readers can reach out to you if they have more questions about your post.

Write for Your Own Digital Nomad Blog

Some of the most popular reasons that people decide to write for digital nomad blog are because they’re looking for a break from everyday life. They want independence of movement and schedule. And they want to pursue their passion project without being tied down by the restraints of a traditional work environment.

For your own digital nomad blog to be successful, you will need to:

  • Identify a profitable niche that you are interested in writing about
  • Set up web hosting and register your domain name
  • Publish new posts on a regular basis
  • Get traffic to your website
  • Monetize your traffic

Tips for Making Money from your own Digital Nomad Blog

Common ways to make money off your own blog is through: affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, website advertising and selling your own digital (or even physical) products.

These are also listed in the recommended path of monetizing your digital nomad blog.

Affiliate marketing is promoting other companies products and services. When someone clicks your affiliate link and purchases the item, you earn commission.

Sponsored posts can be when a brand wants to partner with you to promote their product. Every sponsorship is different but they will often include a gifted product or service along with a commission you will be paid to write about your experience with their product or service.

You know the ads that pop up when you are on a website? Well, those ads make the website owner revenue. Once you build enough traffic to your site, you can make money the same way.

Finally, once you have honed in on what your audience truly needs, create digital or physical products that helps fulfill their need.

How to Get Traffic to Your Digital Nomad Blog

Traffic is the most important part that will determine the success of your digital nomad blog.

You can get traffic by promoting your posts on social media and Pinterest. However, in my own experience (and advice from top bloggers/digital media experts), social media is not always the most reliable way to get blog traffic.

The most effective and sustainable way to get traffic to your digital nomad blog is to rank in Google.

Ranking in Google simply means when someone searches a term in Google, your post comes up on the (ideally) first page of Google.

If you’re not on the first couple pages of Google, your website will likely not get traffic from Google. Period.

Mastering SEO (search engine optimization) is is far easier said than done. But if you are serious about making your digital nomad blog a full-time income source, you must master SEO. This is what will get your blog posts in the top searches of Google.

Best SEO Course for your Digital Nomad Blog

I have purchased several SEO courses. While each of them had some value, there is only ONE course that has actually moved my SEO results. And, it is the only SEO course I will ever recommend.

This course is Stupid Simple SEO. Mike teaches you his exact SEO strategy that he has used for multiple niche sites that he’s builds.

His SEO strategy moved my post from ranking from non-existent to averaging position 13. This means that most of my posts that were written using his strategy show up on page 1 or 2 of Google. A huge win for my organic traffic!

Mike only offers his SSSEO course a few times a year. Click here to see if he is offering it. If he’s not, get on the wait list and sign up for the next class.

It’s a bit of an upfront investment, but well worth it for the return you will experience.

There are a number of reasons why people find the digital nomad lifestyle so attractive.

It’s an escape from the every day life, where you can write about your adventure and share their story with others who might be in search of something different for themselves.

It also offers much more independence than most other ways to make money as they don’t have any overhead or expenses that go along with it. They just need to travel on someone else’s dime (or sometimes even work for free).

Who is the Digital Nomad Lifestyle for?

This lifestyle isn’t suitable for everyone, but there may be some people who would love living without boundaries and always being able to move around freely while still earning a decent income.

The digital nomad lifestyle might be a good fit for you if you enjoy traveling and want to write about it. Or, if you live in different places while working remotely from your laptop.

It may also suit those who have a difficult time finding work where they currently reside due to a low unemployment rate in their area.

The digital nomads usually write about their experiences as a result of being able to work from anywhere and it’s typically geared towards other people who are also experiencing or planning on this type of lifestyle.

They write about things like how much money they have, what countries they visit each month, where they find affordable housing in various places, and more.

However there are many different blogs that cover topics such as traveling alone safely or blogging tips specifically for digital nomads so those can be found too!

Write for a Digital Nomad Blog Best Practices

Many people write for a digital nomad blog, but few write well. If you want to write great content that is interesting and informative, you need to know what your audience wants, how they interact with your posts and what their goals are.

To write for a digital nomad blog, there are four things that you should always keep in mind:

1) Write engaging content your readers will resonate with

2) Create content that is easy to digest

3) Use clear, beautiful photos to share your experiences. Use photo software like Canva to resize photos and do light edits.

4) Write fresh content and avoid reusing the same content. Duplicating content will hurt your Google ranking.

If you’re looking for tips on how to write content for your digital nomad blog’s audience, then these four points are what will help you succeed!

Just make sure that the post is always authentic and about topics related to travel or working remotely. After all, that’s what your blog is for. And those two aspects of being a digital nomad are the ones that will keep readers coming back.

How do I Make my Writing Sound Conversational?

One way to write more naturally is by using contractions like “don’t” or “it’s.” Another example would be replacing formal words with informal ones such as “walked” instead of “moved on foot.”

Try deleting long sentences from the article so that readers won’t get bored reading.

Remember the goal here is not to sound professional, but to write as if you’re talking to a friend, not just telling them what to do.

How Much Money do I Need to Start Writing for a Digital Nomad Blog?

As a digital nomad, your main expenses will be your laptop, wifi and any writing/blogging tools you choose to invest in. This expenses will look different if you are writing as a freelancer or for your own digital nomad blog.

Blogging tools could include:

  • Web Hosting,
  • WordPress Theme,
  • Plugins for WordPress,
  • Educational Courses

You will also have the expenses of travel, rent, utilities, etc… as a digital nomad. Some people write about their travel expenses in order to make it easier for others because they know the struggle of not having a set income every month.
